Wigan dominates Hull KR to secure a spot in the Challenge Cup final.
Wigan Warriors convincingly defeated Hull KR to secure their spot in the Challenge Cup final, where they aim for a record 21st victory in the competition.
After a narrow loss to the Robins in the same stage last year, Wigan left no room for doubt this time, scoring five unanswered tries in the first half courtesy of Jake Wardle, Abbas Miski (who scored twice), Junior Nsemba, and Harry Smith.
In the second half, Tyler Dupree and Wardle added two more tries, while Joe Burgess managed a lone try for Hull KR.
The victory sends Matt Peet’s team to Wembley on June 8th, where they’ll face either Huddersfield Giants or Warrington Wolves. Since their defeat by Hull KR last July, Wigan has been on an impressive streak, winning 21 of their last 23 matches, securing titles like the League Leaders’ Shield, the Super League Grand Final, and the World Club Challenge.
This triumph would allow Wigan to complete their collection with the Challenge Cup. Despite a recent loss to the same opponents, Wigan demonstrated their superiority with an outstanding performance in both attacking and defensive aspects throughout the game.
