USC isn’t appearing on any preseason College Football Playoff predictions.
The USC Trojans currently do not rank among the top 12 teams in college football, which is why they are not featured in any College Football Playoff projections for the upcoming season. Analysts and experts across various platforms are awaiting significant performance indicators from the Trojans before considering them as potential contenders for the 12-team playoff.
College Sports Wire recently unveiled its preseason predictions for the College Football Playoff, and USC did not make the cut. However, Notre Dame was included in their list.
Regarding Notre Dame, College Sports Wire provided the following analysis:
“The Irish kicked off their season in Dublin, Ireland, securing three consecutive victories before engaging in a defensive battle with Ohio State, resulting in a loss. Subsequently, they faced two defeats in the following five games, eliminating them from contention for the CFP. Mike Denbrock returns to Notre Dame after a successful two-year tenure at LSU, which saw 20 wins and a Heisman Trophy win by quarterback Jayden Daniels. The primary concern revolves around whether Riley Leonard can maintain his health to bolster Notre Dame’s prospects in 2024.”
While USC players, coaches, and fans may be disappointed by their absence from the College Football Playoff discourse, there remains an opportunity to alter this narrative. Regardless of their emotions, it is clear that USC has the ability to influence their position by defeating LSU in Week 1, thereby instantly reshaping the conversation surrounding their playoff potential.
