USC Basketball: LeBron James’ Changed Sentiments Regarding Playing Alongside Bronny
LeBron James, the versatile forward of the Los Angeles Lakers, has previously voiced his aspiration to share the basketball court with his eldest son, Bronny James, currently a combo guard for the USC Trojans. There had been speculation about the potential inclusion of his younger son, Bryce, as well.
However, recent indications suggest that the 20-time All-Star, who holds a $51.4 million player option for the upcoming 2024-25 season and has the choice to enter free agency if he opts out, is now showing less certainty about realizing this ambition.
In a recent appearance on “NBA Today,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski disclosed that LeBron James may not significantly alter his plans based on the future of his son, Bronny. Bronny has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft while keeping his eligibility for collegiate basketball through the NCAA transfer portal.
That being said, Wojnarowski implied that LeBron James is focused on ensuring Bronny’s future regardless of whether they play together. The veteran NBA insider mentioned that he had discussions with James’ agent, Rich Paul, regarding this matter.
“Their priority as a family is what’s best for Bronny James. If they end up playing together, that would be ideal,” Wojnarowski commented. “However, I don’t believe LeBron James’ decision for next season is heavily influenced by this.”
Wojnarowski also observed that James would probably return to Los Angeles for a seventh consecutive season next year.
