Tony Stewart Claps Back at Critics, Says He’s Stepping Away to Focus on Eldora Speedway and…
Racing legend Tony Stewart has made it clear—he’s had enough of the criticism and is shifting his focus away from NASCAR to concentrate on what he loves most: Eldora Speedway.
After facing a wave of online backlash regarding his role and decisions in NASCAR-related ventures, Stewart didn’t hold back in a recent statement. “I’m fine being done,” Stewart said. “I’m going back to take care of my Eldora Speedway. I got a lot of bashing online, a lot of bashing on social media, and it was very unjust through the process.”

The three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion voiced frustration over what he sees as unproductive criticism from people who aren’t actively involved in the sport. “It’s easy to sit on your ass, on your couch in your mom’s house, and tell us how we’re doing it wrong,” Stewart continued. “But nobody can seem to sit there and come in on Monday morning and tell us how to do it right.”
Known for his blunt honesty and passion for grassroots racing, Stewart has long been a champion of dirt track racing, with Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, being one of his crowning achievements since purchasing it in 2004. Under his leadership, the track has become a cornerstone of the dirt racing community, hosting major events like the World 100 and the Dirt Late Model Dream.
Stewart’s comments underscore a growing frustration among racing veterans with the influence of social media and armchair critics. While he didn’t specify his exact level of departure from NASCAR, it’s clear his priorities are shifting back to his roots.
Fans of both Stewart and Eldora Speedway can expect his renewed focus to bring even more attention and growth to the iconic dirt….
