Seth Waugh, the CEO of the PGA of America, had stated he would be speaking with Tiger Woods. “We’re still talking,” Woods said on Tuesday. “There’s nothing that has been confirmed yet. We’re still working on what that might look like – also whether or not I have the time to do it.” Tiger Woods brings a lot of uncertainty to Valhalla for the PGA Championship. Part of that is due to his sore body. Part of that also involves the Ryder Cup.
Whoever leads the United States in the Ryder Cup has a lot of work ahead of them, starting in September with a “one year out” event at Bethpage Black.
It is imperative that I am able to devote the necessary time to it,” stated Woods, the 2002 Bethpage Black winner of his second U.S. Open.
Before the PGA Championship, Woods had only teed off twice this year. Off the course, he is quite busy. Since joining the PGA Tour board in the summer of last year, he has been a key participant in meetings. Additionally, Woods is a member of the committee that is debating whether to become a minority investor with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
