They have the option of selecting Daniel Jones’ replacement or sticking with him. Although we are unsure of their plans for the draft, we do know the following: This team is determined to go after opposition quarterbacks because they are tired of fielding a shoddy offensive line.
Giants’ key position needs Quarterback: Is Jones the guy? You can make your own judgment on him and his four-year, $160 million deal in relation to the future of the franchise, but the Giants are doing their homework on the position and will soon make a big decision. Will Schoen and Daboll’s big offseason additions help them stick around beyond this season? Team co-owner John Mara said progress will be measured in wins.
Wide receiver: If Jones stays with the Giants, the first objective will be to identify a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver for him. Not since Odell Beckham Jr.’s heyday have the Giants had one of them. Although there is some potential in New York at the position, the offense might be greatly enhanced by a true star.
Cornerback: The Giants have Deonte Banks as their starting outside corner, but Jackson, a free agent, isn’t anticipated to return, so they need someone. The Giants may always decide to add some more young talent to the room in the draft and watch how the competition develops, even though a seasoned addition is generally desirable.
Running back: The Giants are missing a major component of their offensive identity with the departure of Saquon Barkley. As though
