Jordan Love the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers is apparently the next in line to earn a sizable salary.
In an appearance on SportsCenter on Sunday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said that the Packers are trying to finalize Love’s contract extension, which would elevate him to the top tier of NFL signal-callers.
“The Packers are dedicated to completing a task with love. They think he’s their future since he proved it last year with the big season, according to Fowler. “This might get hotter following the draft. Next year, he should receive almost $10 million. signed a one-year bridge contract in the summer; it should have been far greater, placing him among the top ten highest-paid passers.
Love, the 26th overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, became Green Bay’s first full-time starter last season following the departure of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. Love finally shown himself to be a capable replacement in a long line of successful Packers quarterbacks, despite some early growing pains.
The 25-year-old quarterback finished second in the league with 4,159 yards of passing touchdowns and 11 interceptions. With the youngest roster in the NFL the previous season, he assisted in leading Green Bay to an unexpected playoff berth and an upset victory against the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round. In the Divisional Round, the Packers were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers.
