A large group of Tennessee supporters who journeyed to Ohio Stadium might be regretting their choice after Ohio State’s commanding 42–17 win over the Volunteers in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
To add insult to injury for the visitors, Ohio Stadium cruelly mocked Vols fans by playing “Rocky Top” over the stadium’s loudspeakers, before sending off the fans and the team with a swift switch to “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.”
Tennessee fans certainly made their presence felt on Saturday, as they reportedly brought in what is thought to be the biggest visiting crowd ever at Ohio Stadium. Nearly 40,000 Volunteers supporters were said to have filled the 102,780-seat venue in Columbus. They enthusiastically performed “Rocky Top” prior to the game, but they were not part of the sing-along that occurred after the game concluded.
