Breaking: New York Knicks Super Star Jalen Brunson, Invests $3.3 Million to Transform House Into Shelter for Homeless Youth in……

**Brooklyn, NY – May 20, 2025** – In a powerful move that blends heart with hometown pride, New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is making headlines beyond the basketball court. The All-Star point guard has invested \$3.3 million of his own money to transform a historic brownstone in Brooklyn into a state-of-the-art shelter for homeless youth.

The new shelter, set to open later this year, will provide housing, meals, counseling, and job training for up to 50 young people at a time. Brunson, who has long been an advocate for youth development and mental health awareness, said the project was inspired by the struggles he witnessed growing up and the importance of giving back to the community that now supports his career.

“This city has given me so much — this is just one way I can give something real back,” Brunson said at a press conference Monday. “Every young person deserves a safe place to sleep and a chance to chase their dreams.”

The shelter, which will be operated in partnership with a leading New York nonprofit, will also feature recreational areas, educational workshops, and mentorship programs, some of which Brunson himself plans to take part in during the off-season.

City officials and community leaders have praised Brunson’s initiative, calling it a game-changing act of philanthropy during a time when youth homelessness in New York remains a pressing issue.

“Jalen isn’t just making headlines — he’s making history,” said Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. “This is the kind of leadership we need from our public figures.”

The project is currently in the final stages of renovation and is expected to begin accepting residents by late fall 2025.
