Breaking: Lando Norris Holds Off Oscar Piastri to Win Thrilling Austrian GP After Max Verstappen Crashes Out on Opening Lap….

In a dramatic turn of events at the Red Bull Ring, McLaren’s Lando Norris claimed a stunning victory at the Austrian Grand Prix, fending off a late charge from teammate Oscar Piastri. The race took a shocking twist just seconds after lights out when championship leader Max Verstappen crashed out on the first lap, sending ripples through the paddock.

Verstappen, who started from pole, made contact with another car heading into Turn 1, resulting in terminal damage that forced the Dutchman to retire immediately—marking his first DNF of the season.

With Verstappen out of contention, the race turned into a thrilling McLaren showcase. Norris, who had qualified second, took the lead and maintained his composure through multiple safety car restarts and intense pressure from behind. Oscar Piastri, showing blistering pace throughout, pushed his teammate to the limit but ultimately crossed the line just 1.3 seconds behind.

Ferrari and Mercedes battled behind the McLarens, but neither team could match their pace in the closing stages. Charles Leclerc rounded out the podium in third, while Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

“I’m absolutely over the moon,” Norris said after the race. “It was tough with Oscar right behind me, but the team gave us a great car today. This win means everything.”

With this victory, Norris notches his second career Formula 1 win and narrows the gap in the championship standings. McLaren’s one-two finish also propels them further into contention in the Constructors’ battle.

The F1 season continues next weekend at Silverstone, where Norris and Piastri will look to carry their momentum into the British Grand Prix.
