The Toronto Raptors have embraced the youth movement wholeheartedly. Earlier in the offseason, they reaffirmed their commitment to their youthful core when they decided to offer franchise cornerstone Scottie Barnes a maximum contract extension. Barnes was the breakout player of the previous season, but his All-Star campaign came to an abrupt end when he broke his hand. Reports surfaced on Friday night indicating that the Raptors had signed Immanuel Quickley, another key player in their young core, to a massive five-year contract extension worth $175 million.

Amidst the trade commotion surrounding James Harden, Tyrese Maxey—who won the 2024 Most Improved Player award—was a popular breakthrough pick before the 2023–24 season even got underway.
