Marko highlighted Perez’s alignment with Max Verstappen’s car setup, which has contributed to his recent success.
“It’s clear that ‘Checo’ is having his best season since he’s been with us,” Marko told Kleine Zeitung.
“If he maintains this performance, as he did in qualifying in Japan, then he will surely be the best option for Red Bull in 2025.”
Will the drivers available change Red Bull’s mind?
Marko also addressed the challenges of securing another top-tier driver like Spaniard Carlos Sainz for Red Bull. Sainz, who is set to leave Ferrari at the end of 2024, has reportedly received a lucrative offer from Audi that Red Bull cannot match or exceed.
With limited options for available seats in 2025, Marko indicated that Red Bull is focused on retaining Perez, who is experiencing his strongest season yet.
He acknowledged the competitive landscape in Formula 1, particularly with Audi’s entry into the sport in 2026 following its acquisition of the Sauber team.
