Jack Butland’s focus shifts to Wembley as the Rangers goaltender gains momentum following the Euros.

Rangers only sent one player to Euro 2024 this summer, but supporters thought that one important player in particular was unfortunate not to be called up.

Even though Ianis Hagi only played a total of 15 minutes for the Ibrox team last season, he was the only player from Romania to represent the Gers in Germany.
If events had transpired differently, however, Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland might have joined the Alavés loanee.

Although Scotland international John Souttar may also be counted among the unfortunate individuals who were not called up, Butland was the closest he has ever been to the Three Lions squad during the previous campaign, which lasted for over half a decade.

And now there’s new hope for the 31-year-old Rangers goalie that

Butland was passed over for Euro 2024.
Although England manager Gareth Southgate traveled to the north to see Jack Butland, he chose not to call the stopper up to the team.

Not exactly Butland’s best game of the season, but it was an exciting 3-3 draw with Old Firm rivals Celtic that I watched from the stands.

Refusing to persuade Southgate to take the decision, the problem goes beyond the England manager’s decision to pass up Butland.

But, the summer was likely the goaltender for the Gers’ greatest chance of being called up, because the injuries that kept Three Lions goalkeepers Nick Pope (Newcastle United) and Sam Johnstone (Crystal Palace) out of the competition.

In the end, Southgate selected goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale of Arsenal, number one Jordan Pickford of Everton, and stopper James Trafford of Burnley.

Before the competition, Dean Henderson of Crystal Palace was even named in the country’s preliminary team instead of Butland.

Southgate sent a clear message regarding Butland’s standing at Rangers, which understandably caused anxiety regarding the goalkeeper’s future.

Southgate answers the England call.
If Butland was unable to make Southgate’s England roster, this

It will be up to each new recruit to make their mark on the group, and maybe Jack Butland is taking an interest in the circumstances.

Fans of Rangers, who believe Butland’s openness about his desire to play for England has lured the goalkeeper, will also find it interesting.

Philippe Clement, a premier player and goalie, made it apparent last week that Butland’s sale from Rangers would require enormous financial incentives.

Hopefully, the top Rangers player can persuade whoever takes over in London that he can be just as valuable to England.
