Rangers have announced that young goalkeeper Lewis Budinauckas has committed to the club until 2025 with a new contract.
The 22-year-old played 29 League Two games while on loan at Stranraer last season, giving up 43 goals and keeping eight clean sheets.
Prior to this, Budinauckas was on loan with the Civil Service Strollers and Raith Rovers.
“Rangers Academy can today announce Lewis Budinauckas has signed a contract extension until summer 2025,” the club wrote on X.
For the Rangers, the summer is busy.
This summer, Rangers are changing things up by bringing in both young, fresh talent and experienced acquisitions. With Connor Barron joining from Aberdeen, the 21-year-old midfielder hopes to establish himself at Ibrox under Philippe Clement.
He is only one of the new players that the Gers have added. Oscar Cortes, who is back on loan from Lens and has a purchase commitment in the future, gives their assault quickness and inventiveness, and the addition of Clinton Nsiala strengthens their defense.
However, the action does not end there. Despite interest from Turkish teams, Rangers are looking to recruit more players, such as Yusuf Kabadayi of Bayern Munich and Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane.
But it’s also crucial that the team retains its best players, which is why Auchenhowie is always happy to see these new additions.
Now, Budinauckas will focus on making a name for himself in the upcoming year and collaborate closely with people like Jack Butland.
