After a week of uncertainty, former Tennessee football linebacker A.J. Johnson has found a home in the NFL.
Johnson, 31, was signed to the practice squad by the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday after being released two days earlier as teams submitted their 53-man rosters. He was signed on Aug. 24 and played in the Dolphins’ 31-18 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday. He did not record any statistics.
Johnson was with the Denver Broncos from 2018-21 and appeared in one game for the Seattle Seahawks in 2022.
While with the Broncos, Johnson suffered a torn pectoral muscle against the Raiders on Oct. 17, 2021. He was later placed on season-ending injury reserve.
