The Belgian midfielder is wanted by Arsenal, but a deal may not be reached.

Amadou Onana

The Everton midfielder Amadou Onana is reportedly considering a transfer to Arsenal, according to Het Nieuwsblad. However, the Gunners may find it difficult to secure his transfer this winter due to budgetary constraints.
The rumours have been stoked by recent conversations between the player’s agent and club representatives.

Although continuous negotiations with Everton indicate a possible deal is being investigated, Arsenal has not made a formal proposal for Amadou Onana, according to Het Nieuwsblad. The midfielder may be more difficult for Arsenal to pursue actively, though, due to financial constraints.

According to reports, Everton is looking for at least €70 million in order to contemplate selling Amadou Onana, a former midfield player for Lille. In the English top division, Onana has cemented his place as one of the best defensive midfielders.

Declan Rice might flourish in the number eight position if Onana is acquired, serving as the perfect balance to Rice in Arsenal’s midfield. Because Thomas Partey’s ailments prevented him from playing earlier in the lineup, Onana could be a good option to provide more consistency.

Even though the Gunners are not overspending, it doesn’t seem likely that Onana will sign a big contract. The Gunners may be able to pull off a loan agreement with a buyout clause, but Everton may be wary given their ongoing struggle to maintain league position.
