  • AmaZulu take action after Mobara red card
  • Usuthu went on to to lose to Buccaneers
  • Martin frustrated as feels robbed by officials

AmaZulu coach Pablo Franco Martin has revealed that his club has taken action over Abbubaker Mobara’s “ridiculous” red card during the game against Orlando Pirates.

Mobara was sent off in the 22nd minute in Usuthu’s 1-0 defeat to his former side, Pirates in a PSL match played at the Orlando Stadium last Saturday.

As a result, Usuthu believe that the decision by referee Cedrick Muvhali was unfair and the club has now taken the matter to the PSL.

  • ”Mobara is suspended because we sent a report to PSL, because when you are receiving a red card for – first of all, probably not even a red card due to the situation, but especially because it’s not even a foul,” he said, as per Gagasi FM, as quoted by iDiski Times.

”And then when someone else is making a mistake, if you need to be punished for the mistake of somebody else, I think it’s something ridiculous.

”We’re not even talking about being fair. It’s about something that’s crazy. So the report is there in PSL and we are waiting for two days to reply because we are expecting Mobara to be available for this game and the upcoming games,” he added.

”Because not continuing for three games one of our key players for something that he didn’t do and it’s already proven, I think could be something again bad for this football and for this competition.”

Coincidentally, there has been a bout of questionable refereeing decisions lately in the local top tier, with many coaches raising their concerns.

Moreover, AmaZulu coach complained about a similar issue two weeks back after Pirates were awarded a controversial penalty after Makhehlene Makhaula was seemingly brought down in the 18 area by Taariq Fielies.

Some of the wrong decisions by the officials have benefited several teams, and coaches have been crying out loud regarding the incidents.
