Manchester United is preparing to make an offer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in exchange for making a move for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.
As part of their effort to lure Olise to Old Trafford, the Red Devils plan to suggest giving the full-back back to the Eagles, according to The Daily Star. In order to prevent losing Wan-Bissaka for free at the end of this season, the club extended his contract by one year last summer. Wan-Bissaka joined United from Palace in 2019.
22-year-old Olise has been identified as one of United’s top transfer targets by INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the team’s new partly owners. In the upcoming transfer windows, the group intends to rejuvenate United’s offensive line and will pursue his arrival at Old Trafford in the summer.
But United isn’t the only team hoping to acquire Olise. In an effort to deny the Red Devils the Frenchman, Liverpool may try to activate the release clause in his contract, which is set to expire in the summer and is valued at £60 million ($76 million), according to Football Transfers.
In an effort to move up the Premier League standings, Erik ten Hag’s club will probably consider other possibilities to bolster their roster during the January transfer window. United is now nine points outside of the top four in the table, sitting in eighth position.
