Dominique Hampton a safety was chosen by the Washington Commanders with the 161st overall pick in the NFL Draft.
ASHBURN, Virginia The NFL Draft is the main source of talent from which the Washington Commanders will select players for their 2024 squad.
The Commanders added quarterback Jayden Daniels to their roster in the early offseason after bringing in veterans from across the league. Since then, they have kept adding new players to their roster.
Dominique Hampton, a safety out of the Washington Huskies program, is the most recent rookie to travel to Washington.
“Average game film has to be weighed against his traits and the potential of what he could do with pro coaching,” according to NFL.com. Because Hampton is large, quick, and long, defensive coordinators can make adjustments. Compared to man coverage, he feels more at ease acting as a read-and-react high safety. Although he is keen to support the run, his inconsistent angles to the tackle and subpar body control can result in misplacement and too many arm tackles. Because of his qualities and potential, Hampton might be selected by a team on the third round and turn into a mediocre backup with important special teams worth.”
