In preparation for their match against Manchester United on Sunday at Old Trafford, Tottenham Hotspur is trying to bolster their roster.
According to sources, Tottenham Hotspur has made an offer for Radu Dragusin, the defender for Genoa. On Sunday, Spurs go to Manchester United in a crucial match that will increase both teams’ prospects of placing in the top four of the Premier League.
Transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano claims that Tottenham has made a bid for £26 million, and Spurs have also agreed to loan Djed Spence to Genoa. Leeds United, a Championship team, unexpectedly ended Spence’s tenure at Elland Road last week. Spence had played for the West Yorkshire club for the first half of the season.
Dragusin might play if the transfer is finalised by the end of the week against Erik ten Hag’s team. The Romanian player, 21, began his career with Juventus but played most of his career on loan, spending time at Sampdoria, Salernitana, and Genoa before deciding to sign a permanent deal with the latter in the summer. Recently, Dragusin’s agency disclosed that he visited London and had discussions about a potential transfer with Arsenal, Spurs, and Newcastle.
Florin Manea told the Romanian publication Fanatik, “I have been in London for a while and have almost weekly meetings with important teams.” “We’re drawing nearer. I had conversations with Tottenham, Arsenal, and Newcastle. I’ve had talks and mails with them as well. Some teams inquire [about Dragusin].
“I want to state unequivocally that Radu will play in a weak, very strong club by the summer of next year! in the world’s top ten. He is aware that Milan really likes him, but he still wants to play in the Premier League. They have to accept that Genoa has very high claims before anything else.”
Manea also disclosed that although Dragusin had only joined the team permanently in the summer, Genoa had extended an offer to him for a new deal. Although Bayern Munich expressed interest in the defender but did not submit an official offer, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany says that the defender has committed to Spurs through 2029.
Prior to the match on Sunday, Spurs and RB Leipzig reached an agreement for Timo Werner, the former striker for Chelsea, to join on loan. The forward will get a medical on Tuesday, and he should be ready to play for Ange Postecoglou’s team at Old Trafford by then.
Werner had previously been connected to United as they look to address their goal-scoring issues. According to BBC Sport, Werner’s transfer to Spurs includes a buyout option. On Sunday, when United hosts Tottenham, he may play in his first Premier League match since leaving Chelsea.
Spurs have been active in the transfer window thus far, although other Premier League clubs have not made any significant purchases. Although permanent transfers are improbable given the financial situation at Old Trafford, United manager Ten Hag did not completely rule out the idea of his team bringing in loan players this month on Monday night.
