Charlie, the 15-year-old son of Tiger Woods, aspires to follow in his father’s footsteps in the business world. However, this isn’t the case with the daughter of the renowned golfer.
In an interview with “Today,” Woods disclosed that his daughter Sam really has a “negative connotation” for the sport and is not interested in it.
“She has, I think, a negative connotation to the game because at that time, when she was growing up, golf took Daddy away from her,” Woods remarked on Wednesday.
“I had to pack, and I had to leave, and I’d be gone for weeks, and there’s a negative connotation to it.”
Sam caddied for her father and brother at the PNC Championship in December, but Woods disclosed that he doesn’t generally play golf with his daughter.
“We established a rapport and relationship that extends beyond golf, as we engage in non-golf related activities together. My son and I take care of all things golf-related in the interim. It’s simply very dissimilar.”
This was Woods’ fourth consecutive year competing at the PNC Championship with his kid.
Charlie shot a 9-over 81 at Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, last week in an attempt to advance in a local qualifying event for the U.S. Open, but he was unsuccessful.
