Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has stated that his team needs eager players after losing out on superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
Even if the Dutchman is still leading a revolution at Old Trafford, the team’s performance has declined in his second season in command, and they currently rank ninth in the Premier League standings.
After placing last in their Champions League, which included FC Copenhagen, Bayern Munich, and Galatasaray, they are also eliminated from European competition.
As they battled ailments, Newcastle eliminated them from the EFL Cup in the fourth round.
High-profile players have also been allowed to depart the Red Devils, with Sancho returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan and Ronaldo leaving on a free transfer.
Additionally, there are rumours that Raphael Varane and Casemiro may depart Old Trafford.
Ten Hag, however, believes that things can only go better if his players are prepared to fight for success. He sees his team entering the match against Tottenham having only two Premier League victories in six games.
Ten Hag stated, “You need hungry players if you want to perform.”
As I’ve already stated, in order to succeed as a team, we need players and personalities that are fiercely motivated to battle for the badge, this club, and one other.
One of Ten Hag’s main tenets is discipline, which the Glazers supported throughout the Ronaldo scenario. Meanwhile, Sancho’s departure has not been impeded by newly appointed minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The Dutchman stated, “I think it is about normal behaviour, not about discipline.”
“That’s the main thing to expect from a top professional.”
