Gary Neville has made predictions about whether Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur would finish higher in the Premier League standings this season than Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Gary Neville predicts Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Well, Tottenham Hotspur played out a 2-2 draw with Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Spurs were undoubtedly the superior squad and performed brilliantly against the Red Devils. A couple of the North London team’s greatest players were also absent, including attacker Son Heung-min and playmaker James Maddison.
Gary Neville, a former defender for Manchester United, was impressed with Spurs and does not want Ivan Toney to join Arsenal this month.
The pundit thinks Tottenham can place higher in the Premier League standings than Arsenal and Liverpool.
“They are a certainty to finish in the top four and I think they can get to second and third if they keep their players fit,” Neville said to Sky Sports.
“If they can make it through these next few weeks and get those players back, I really believe they can outperform Arsenal and Liverpool this season.”
“We could wind up with a good FA Cup draw versus Manchester City. Leave that behind and give the league your whole attention. They do, however, require a trophy.
“It’s terrific if he wins a trophy, but historically, clubs that have had exceptionally successful seasons aren’t typically found in Europe or contests.
“It would be something special for Ange Postecoglou to finish second or third, which they could do if they have a strong run.”
