Wayne Rooney may have aspirations of managing Manchester United, according to Dimitar Berbatov.

Since retiring in 2013, Sir Alex Ferguson has left Manchester United suffering, and many believe they need to find a manager who can turn things around before they can start to become a force to be reckoned with once more.

After hanging up their boots, a few of the players managed by the Scot at the time, including one Dimitar Berbatov believes had a fantasy of one day sitting in the Red Devils bench, have went into management.

Despite his recent struggles at Birmingham City, the Bulgarian thinks Wayne Rooney has what it takes to manage Manchester United in the future and has recommended him for the position.

Berbatov told the Sun, “I think he likes to be a manager, so I have no doubt that he is going to come back and do that.”
“I believe that eventually, he would desire to manage Manchester United at some point in the future. Another concern is how he plans to get there.

“I hope he keeps moving up the success ladder in that company to become a manager. Regretfully, he experienced a little hiccup with the Birmingham employment.

However, one cannot disagree with the numbers. losing numerous games. When he was let go, the team was ranked twenty-first, having started as high as fifth. That defies argumentation.Yes, someone may argue that “they did not give him enough time,” but in today’s fast-paced football world, outcomes are crucial. As a result, it may occasionally be more crucial to receive the results quickly in order to have enough time to formulate your strategy. Regretfully, that was not the case with him, but I have faith that he will bounce back stronger and keep moving in the direction of managing Manchester United in the future.

Birmingham dropped from sixth to 20th in the Championship table under Rooney’s leadership, winning just two of the 15 games he oversaw. As a result, his chances of landing another big job have been severely damaged.

The former Red Devils star began managing Derby County in November 2020 and managed to keep them in the playoffs through the end of 2020–21. However, at the end of 2021–22, they were demoted to League One after receiving two separate point deductions for going into administration and breaking financial regulations earlier in the season, totalling twenty-one points.
