When Jose Mourinho was managing Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson offered him just one piece of advise, which the Portuguese manager decided to disregard.
In defiance of Sir Alex Ferguson’s advise, Jose Mourinho signed Dele Alli to Manchester United.
Mourinho was not persuaded by Ferguson’s suggestion and declined to sign the former England player. “Buy Dele Alli—that guy, with that mentality, the way he plays, the aggression he has in mind, this guy is the Manchester United player—that’s the only piece of advice Sir Alex Ferguson gave me in the last two and a half years,” the man stated, as reported by the Mirror.
“And Ferguson has a knack for spotting a player. However, Alli is a poor trainer; we must find inspiration for him.”
