Rumour: Man United may sabotage a £15 million agreement with West Ham

Man United and AC Milan, among others, may use West Ham’s interest in Stuttgart attacker Serhou Guirassy as leverage, sources have told Football Insider.

As they search for a new forward, the Irons are expected to increase their interest in Guirassy and Feyenoord star Santiago Gimenez, according to a report published by Football Insider on Friday, January 12.

However, Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that David Moyes’ team will have “huge competition” for Guirassy, who has been playing exceptionally well for Stuttgart this season.

The European powerhouses AC Milan and Man United, both of the Premier League, are rumoured to be among the teams preparing a possible deal for the Guinea international.

Adding another layer of complexity to any transaction will be Guirassy’s involvement in the African Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.

Stuttgart is also putting a lot of effort into keeping the forward, considering they just signed him on a permanent basis during the summer transfer window of the previous year.

Leading teams throughout Europe are interested in the striker because of the £15 million release clause in his contract with the German team.

Guirassy has scored 19 goals for Stuttgart this season in 16 appearances.

After joining the team from Ligue 1’s Stade Rennais last year, the 27-year-old is bound to the team through June 2026.

After recent injuries to players like Lucas Paqueta, Michail Antonio, and Jarrod Bowen, West Ham is looking to add more strikers to their lineup.

Mohammed Kudus, the second-highest scorer for the Irons, is currently overseas in Ghana for the African Cup of Nations.

With a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, Moyes’ team will begin playing in the Europa League knockout stages in March.
