Journalist Alonso Rivero claims that Hannibal Mejbri, a midfielder for Manchester United, will decide next week whether to go on loan to Everton or Sevilla.
The Tunisian, who has not received much playing time under manager Erik ten Hag, has decided to seek a fresh challenge away from Old Trafford.
At first, Sevilla led the race for his services. The Toffees’ interest has delayed down the process, although they were very close to an agreement.
Mejbri is reportedly in support of moving to Spain to play for Sevilla, and the La Liga team is hopeful that Mejbri’s “will, will prevail” and they will finally sign him.
Mejbri plans to decide before the end of next week.
The 20-year-old started a few games for United early in the season, but since Mainoo broke through a few months ago, he has seldom played.
His contract was recently extended by the club until June 2025, but it was probably done so to protect his transfer worth and keep him from leaving on a free transfer.
Although Sevilla has offered a loan agreement with a potential buyout clause, it is not shocking that United is waiting for Everton’s offer. They might have provided a better financial arrangement.
It will ultimately be up to Mejbri to make the decision. Mejbri’s contract is about to expire this summer, therefore United is currently in a difficult situation.
The club graduate hasn’t indicated that she plans to sign an extension as of yet. Mejbri is probably going to leave this month. Manager Erik ten Hag recently refused to rule out his exit.
