The Mirror reports that Manchester United is interested in paying roughly €60 million to capture Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal, who is 26 years old.
According to reports, Oyarzabal is the Red Devils’ preferred candidate to take Jadon Sancho’s spot. Sancho returned to the German squad earlier this week after joining Borussia Dortmund on loan, and he provided an assist in his first matchback.
The Spaniard will most likely turn down United’s offer and go work with Unai Emery at Aston Villa instead.
Oyarzabal has played his whole playing career for Real Sociedad, despite having a contract with the Basque team that expires in 2028. It is said that Oyarzabal is searching for a fresh challenge.
Erik Ten Hag is interested in the dynamic winger because he saw Jadon Sancho go on loan and will want to sell him in the summer. Meanwhile, £82 million Antony is still having form issues.
With eight league goals already this season, Mikel Oyarzabal’s WhoScored.com rating for Sociedad this season is at 6.75.
