Now, as per an exclusive story carried by Football Insider, Man Utd are “all over” Vermeeren and are working on strategies to seal his signature.
The Old Trafford team has maintained constant communication with the 18-year-old, who is a rising star in the world of football, in an attempt to entice him.
The media outlet have said that an initial sum of £25m would be enough to recruit the player but with add-ons, Antwerp would like the overall worth of the transaction to be around £50m.
Vermeeren can play in both the No. 6 and No. 8 positions with effectiveness, and he excelled in the DM role as Antwerp won the league championship the previous season.
He has mostly filled the role of centre midfielder this season, scoring two goals and dishing out six assists.
