Sources close to Football Transfers claim that this month, Manchester United and Chelsea both made an attempt to extend loan offers for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.
Man Utd are reportedly searching for an attacker who can compete with Harry Kane. Given Brighton’s exorbitant asking price this month, Ferguson appears to be over budget, therefore the Old Trafford group submitted a request for a short-term deal.
Ferguson, however, has been approached by Chelsea to sign on loan this month through the rest of the campaign. Following that, their primary objective would be to sign Victor Osimhen, a striker from Napoli who has been associated with them for an extended period of time.
Ferguson had six goals this season, but Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton team has not allowed him to play in the starting lineup. Ferguson has appeared in just 11 Premier League games this season.
However, Tony Bloom, the owner of Brighton, is not open to any such arrangement and has insisted on a straight sale in the event that the Republic of Ireland international, 19, decides to leave the team.
Even if these offers are turned down, Ferguson is still a possibility for Manchester United and Chelsea in the run-up to the summer transfer window.
The Premier League striker is more likely to join with Manchester United than Chelsea. Victor Osimhen is Chelsea’s top transfer target, and they are preparing a summer transfer for the Napoli attacker.
Brighton will continue to have all control over the situation because Ferguson has a contract with Brighton that expires in 2029.
When it comes to player sales in the transfer market, Brighton is renowned for its shrewdness. They have previously successfully negotiated and obtained substantial transfer payments for their athletes.
Ben White, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Alexis Mac Allister, and Moises Caicedo all left the team per Brighton’s demands and for the transfer fee.
Ferguson is poised to join one of the big boys in the Premier League and may be the next big player to depart the team.
