Jesse Lingard, the former midfielder for Manchester United, has not played since Nottingham Forest discharged him at the end of the previous campaign.
In a since-deleted social media post, Manchester United great Paul Scholes sent Jesse Lingard a message regarding his gym work as he prepares to return to the game.
Scholes was replying to Lingard’s most recent Instagram post. Lingard has been working out at the gym in Dubai. Rather than adding a caption, Lingard just marked the Instagram post’s location as the United Arab Emirates.
Scholes criticised the United Academy alumnus in the post’s comments section. “Are you just gonna f*** about in the gym or are you going to play football?” was the comment that was removed before it was posted.
Whether Lingard saw the communication prior to its hurried deletion is unknown. Since the end of the previous season, Lingard has not played due to his unfortunate spell with Nottingham Forest.
Forest decided not to sign a new deal when his one-year deal expired, and the 31-year-old has since been looking for a new team. Earlier in the season, the midfielder went on trial with West Ham United, but David Moyes decided not to sign him.
