Jadon Sancho “had issues all the way through” with Man United, according to Erik ten Hag, even before he became manager. He also emphasizes that Sancho’s performance faults were “clear and obvious.”

Ten Hag implied that there had always been issues between Sancho and Man United. Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on a loan after Ten Hag banished him.
CHRIS SUTTON: At Man United, I think Jadon Sancho will outlast Erik ten Hag—it’s all starting now.

Jadon Sancho and Manchester United allegedly had “issues” prior to Erik ten Hag taking over as manager.

Sancho, who was sent to Borussia Dortmund on loan, was unable to make amends with Ten Hag after calling the Dutchman a liar in public due to criticism of his training output.

Elgunnar Solskjaer recruited him to a £73 million contract at United in 2021; Ten Hag took over as manager of Old Trafford in the summer of 2022.

Ten Hag said to Sky Sports, “He’s at Dortmund right now.” There were problems after he signed, which was a year before [I was here]. You can see that his time at Manchester United has not been successful thus far because we have had problems the entire time.

Now that he’s returning to Borussia Dortmund, I want the best for him. We all hope that he is succeeding there and that he is doing well. Once more, we’ll have to wait and see.

Would the situation have changed if he had shown regret? “We’ve said that previously.” I also don’t want to reiterate the main points every time. We have been clear that he knows what he should do.

“Let’s end this discussion now that his performance was so evident and clear.” We wish him well as he travels to Dortmund.
