On social media, a leaked poster allegedly featuring Gary Neville on the lineup for this summer’s Kendal Calling festival has surfaced.
In his post-playing career, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has been a lot of things. He is a co-owner of an EFL team, a pundit, a coach, and a hotel with a football theme. Earlier this month, he appeared on the BBC programme Dragon’s Den.
However, the former England player might now have more tools at his disposal when a sharp-eyed X (formerly Twitter) user saw his name on a leaked poster that appeared to list the Kendal Calling festival’s lineup for this year.
The words “Gary Neville B2B Tim Burgess” are tucked discreetly on the banner behind the headline acts Noel Gallagher, The Streets, Keane, and Sugababes, implying that the 48-year-old will be spinning records with the frontman of the Charlatans.
The fact that the two are extremely old friends lends validity to this; in 2015, Neville even made an appearance on stage with the Charlatans, strumming along with Burgess and company, for a rooftop performance at his Hotel Football.
Whether or not Neville will make his festival debut and whether the leaked poster is authentic will have to wait until the Kendal Calling lineup is confirmed on Thursday morning.
If that’s the case, Neville and Burgess—who loves Manchester United—will surely be prepared to trade quips with Manchester City superfan Noel Gallagher, who is scheduled to be the festival’s major act at the beginning of August.
Three weeks after the Euro 2024 final, Neville and Burgess are scheduled to perform alongside The Pigeon Detectives, who support Leeds United, and Lightning Seeds. Given this, what are the chances that Neville will join them for a victorious performance of ‘Three Lions’?
