Arsenal and Liverpool will be ‘looking over their shoulders’ and fearing Manchester City after the side’s comeback against Newcastle United.
Rio Ferdinand, a veteran of Manchester United, feels that City’s chances of winning the title are greatly increased by Kevin De Bruyne’s return to fitness.
Newcastle led by goals from Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak after City had taken the lead in the northeast.
But when De Bruyne came off the bench with 20 minutes remaining, the game completely changed.
The Belgian sealed the game in injury time with a beautiful pass for Oscar Bobb, and he also scored a spectacular placed finish fifteen minutes from time.
Arsenal and Liverpool, who had watched City win five of their previous six games without key player Erling Haaland, were dealt a shattering blow.
Ferdinand adds that now that City has found their rhythm, the title contenders will dread them.
You don’t often see Pep Guardiola as enthusiastic as he was today,Ferdinand stated on TNT Sports.
“That man there, De Bruyne, you’re back, you’re back,” I will tell you. You’re back, and you’re the crown jewel.
‘Watch momentum kick in now and these guys know what to do.
These men know when to step on it, and it appears that everyone will now be glancing over their shoulders, scanning the area, and predicting their arrival.
They possess the firepower, depth, class, expertise, and know-how to complete the task at hand. Outstanding.
