The resistance
No team has won the League Cup more than Wednesday’s rivals, and Liverpool would be the first to do it ten times if they were to win the cup one more in 2024. Additionally, they have finished second four times.
Liverpool has had to pass a few challenging Carabao Cup tests thus far. They defeated the dominant Championship team, Leicester City, 3-1, after going down 2-1 and 5-1 against Premier League teams, Bournemouth and West Ham United, respectively, after entering the tournament in the Third Round.
The Reds have won four of their last six games, and they enter the First Leg in excellent form across all competitions. The other two ended in draws, both at Anfield, with Manchester United and Arsenal finishing the Premier League with a point apiece.
News about Liverpool’s team
Virgil van Dijk has since recovered from his illness that kept him out of their FA Cup triumph against Arsenal over the weekend. Wataru Endo and Mohamed Salah are away on international service, and Thiago Alcantara, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Stefan Bajcetic, Joel Matip, Andrew Roberton, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Kostas Tsimikas are all sidelined with injuries. Caoimhin Kelleher, who has started in goal for all of their Carabao Cup games this season, will start in goal, assistant manager Pep Lijnders also stated in his pregame press conference.
News about the Fulham team
Tim Ream might be available for Marco Silva to use for the first time in a month, but he’s more likely to start from the bench. While on international duty are Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and Fodé Ballo-Touré, Adama Traoré is injured.

Player perception

He said on FFCtv, “We’re looking to get a result.” That’s the basic objective: we want to go to Anfield and win, of course, but if not, we have to settle for a draw or a tie and return to the Cottage with some hope still in it.
Combine
