Jordan Henderson joined Steven Gerrard in the Saudi Pro League after departing Liverpool during the summer transfer window.
According to reports, Ajax and former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson are “close” to completing a deal.
Only six months after joining Al-Ettifaq, a Saudi Arabian team that presently sits eighth in the league and is roughly 28 points behind league champions Al-Hilal, Henderson looks to be heading out of the club.
The midfielder could soon see his Middle East nightmare come to an end, however, with The Mirror saying Ajax feel they are closing in on a deal for the 33-year-old as they attempt to salvage a bad season of their own. The KNVB Cup was won by amateur team USV Hercules, and the Dutch powerhouses are now a startling 26 points behind PSV Eindhoven.
According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, Henderson is not just being eyed by Ajax; Juventus is also interested in the 2019 Champions League winner. The Serie A club is reportedly targeting the England international as a player who has “jumped to the top of the list” in order to bolster their group.
