Liverpool’s “best substitute in the Premier League” surpasses the respective performances of Man City and Arsenal.

Darwin Nunez, a striker for Liverpool, is statistically the best Premier League substitute.

In terms of statistics, Liverpool’s substitutes are the most effective in the Premier League. Against Fulham on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, Darwin Nunez increased his season total of assists to ten.

The Uruguayan set up Curtis Jones for a deflected long-range goal to tie the score at one. He then raced down the left side and crossed for Cody Gakpo to make it 2-1. Nunez has made 30 appearances this season, tallying eight goals and ten assists.

However, he has only played in 1,667 minutes (17 of which have been starts; teammate Mohamed Salah has played the most minutes in the squad with 2,045). Nunez is contributing directly to a goal every 92.6 minutes on average, according to this. Specifically, he is averaging an assist every 167 minutes.

Furthermore, that rate is higher than that of any other Premier League player in all competitions. At an average of one every 200 minutes, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka leads the team in assists with eleven, one more than Nunez. On the other hand, Julian Alvarez of Man City is averaging an assist every 232 minutes with nine.

Compared to Nunez, those two are beginning more frequently. The 24-year-old is, according to the statistics, the most influential player in England’s top flight when he comes off the bench.

This season, Nunez has made contributions from the bench in the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Europa League, totaling three goals and four assists. That comes from 13 outings as a replacement. As a substitute, no other player in the same league has contributed as many goals as this one.
