Jordan Henderson has ended his unpleasant and detrimental stay in Saudi Arabia and is heading to the Netherlands on Thursday to sign with Ajax.

The former captain of Liverpool is scheduled to take a private aircraft from England to Amsterdam in order to complete a physical and sign a contract with Ajax that is anticipated to last until 2026.

After just six months, Henderson chose to abandon the three-year deal he had signed with Saudi club Al-Ettifaq in the summer. However, according to allegations that surfaced overnight, the 33-year-old may not receive a single euro from his disastrous stint in the Middle East.

Al-Ettifaq are eighth in the 18-team Saudi Pro League, despite being one of four clubs backed by the country’s Public Investment Fund to spend lavishly last summer, and have won only one of their past nine matches.
