Current Liverpool news: Andy Robertson’s return to the matchday squad for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Fulham will provide Jurgen Klopp a boost.
Liverpool has been preparing for their Carabao Cup semi-final matchup with Fulham on Wednesday, as they might be only ninety minutes away from returning to Wembley.
The Reds won the first leg of the match, giving them a 2-1 lead going into the second game at Craven Cottage. Cody Gakpo and Curtis Jones scored the goals to give Liverpool the advantage going into tonight’s match.
Again, Jurgen Klopp will have a large roster to manage as a number of players are sidelined with injuries and others are unavailable because they are representing their respective nations.
Wataru Endo has been with Japan, and Mohamed Salah has been with Egypt for the Asian Cup and Africa Cup of Nations, respectively. Salah, who might yet go back to the Ivory Coast if his team makes it to the finals, will return to Merseyside this week to recuperate from an injury he got while playing for Egypt.
Regarding injuries, Dominik Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold are out tonight evening but might play this weekend in the FA Cup against Norwich City. While Kostas Tsimikas is getting closer to playing again, he will not play against Fulham.
However, Andy Robertson’s expected return to the matchday roster would be a significant plus for Liverpool. Due to a dislocated shoulder he suffered in October while playing for Scotland on the international stage, Robertson has been sidelined.
Unless there are any last-minute injury updates, here is the entire Liverpool roster that should be available to play Fulham.
Adrian, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Alisson Becker are the goalkeepers.
Andy Robertson, Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Jarell Quansah, Luke Chambers, Owen Beck, and Virgil van Dijk are the defenders.
Ryan Gravenberch, Bobby Clark, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and Alexis Mac Allister are midfielders.
Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Kaide Gordon, and Luis Diaz are the forwards.
The following players are not available: Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak, Kostas Tsimikas, Wataru Endo, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Thiago Alcantara.
