One of the main topics of conversation thus far during the summer transfer window has been Leeds United’s defense.

When bringing Joe Rodon back to Elland Road, the Whites faced an enduring story and have been linked to a multitude of talent.
Even with the Rodon situation resolved, Daniel Farke still lacks depth at right back.

Archie Gray, Jamie Shackleton, Cody Drameh, and Luke Ayling all left the team this summer, and when they were needed, they were almost always used at right-back.

This meant that Leeds had no one to use in that section of the pitch but Sam Byram.

Thus, it is to be expected that the West Yorkshire team has been connected to numerous players.

But before a deal could be made, Farke was told it would take at least £10 million to get him out of the Stadium of Light [Belfast Telegraph, July 19].

The move for Hume appears utterly dead in the water now that it has been revealed by John Percy on Saturday, July 20, that the Whites have agreed to a £5 million deal for Sheffield United star Jayden Bogle. That sum never really felt plausible.

For Leeds United, Jayden Bogle is a better right-back option than Trai Hume.
In addition to having a great deal of Premier League experience at just 23 years old, Bogle will only cost Leeds half as much as Hume.

Indeed, the Northern Ireland

Because of his versatility—he can play both full back and wing back—Farke will undoubtedly be able to make tactical adjustments and strengthen Leeds’ defensive line.

Even though Hume’s contract appears to be in ruins right now, that doesn’t mean that another team won’t jump at the chance to sign him.

It just implies that it’s difficult to understand why Leeds would need to sign Hume this summer in addition to Bogle.

Liam Cooper posted a comment following the confirmation of yet another Leeds United departure, in other Leeds United news.
