Now, Leeds United wants to sign the Tottenham player that Jose Mourinho said will be the team’s “future captain.”
Tottenham and Leeds United have already made waves this summer, but more offers might be forthcoming.
Oliver Skipp, a midfielder for Tottenham, is a player Leeds United is hoping to capture this summer as they prepare for another Championship promotion campaign. Daniel Farke has a history with Skipp dating back to their Norwich days together, when they helped the team return to the Premier League.
In addition to a move to the Championship, where he will be reunited with Farke and Joe Rodon—who just left Spurs permanently to join the Yorkshire club—Skipp is seeking for regular playing time.
Earlier this year, Norwich manager Daniel Farke remarked, “Now we almost take it for granted; he plays without mistakes and he is solid, but I am full of praise for him.” “It’s clear from his personality and group dynamics why Jose mentioned he has the makings of a future Tottenham captain. This is his lineage.”
Skipp made 24 appearances in the league last season, but just five of those were starts. With Gray (who can play both midfield and fullback) joining the team from Leeds, Skipp will now be further down the list of players vying for a midfield berth, along with Pape Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and Yves Bissouma.
