MATT QUATRARO IN TEARS AS HIS WIFE Christine Quatrar HAS BEEN…SEE MORE

Kansas City Royals manager Matt Quatraro, a Bethlehem Central graduate, said his current home reminds him of the area where he grew up.

In his second year with the Royals, Quatraro lives in a Kansas suburb with his wife, Christine, and their two sons.

“We love it,” Quatraro said. “It’s a great area. It reminds me a lot of ways of upstate New York. Just the way it looks, it’s not what I expected. When you think about Kansas, in my mind, it’s the wheat fields and that kind of thing. But it’s hillier and there’s a lot of foliage, a lot of big trees.”

Quatraro, 50, keeps in touch with family back home and with longtime friends in Bethlehem like Bethlehem baseball coach Matt Rehbit and assistant coach Rick Leach.

“Bethlehem won the state title (in June), first time ever,” observed Quatraro, a former University at Albany assistant coach. “That was pretty cool.”

Meanwhile, Quatraro is busy trying to guide the Royals back into title contention after several lean years since winning the 2015 World Series. He has them heading in the right direction.
