With Pascal Siakam being officially a long-term member of the Indiana Pacers, excitement is rising in Indiana.
At the press conference announcing Pascal Siakam’s official resigning from the Indiana Pacers, there was a lot of excitement.
The biggest concern among Pacers supporters before to Siakam’s trade on January 17 was that he would merely be a half-season rental and would not sign a long-term contract with the organization. Siakam was sent to Indiana for a less impressive package than first thought because of this as well as the fact that the star forward and the Toronto Raptors had completely burned bridges. Kevin Pritchard, the president of basketball operations for the Pacers, began the press conference by discussing how, after the In-Season Tournament’s success, the team’s initial goals for the season were to simply qualify for the playoffs with a good seed.
The Pacers brass chose to be ambitious after this surprising success because they believed they were just missing one piece—possibly Pascal Siakam—to contend. Siakam was, in fact, Indiana’s lone major target at the trade deadline, and they were able to get him for “a lot.”

He said that he believes Siakam still has a lot of room to improve and that every player he plays with reflects his enthusiasm for the game.
