Gary Lineker demands that England replace Gareth Southgate with a former Chelsea manager.

Over the weekend, England secured their spot in the final four of the European Championships, and they have a Chelsea player to thank for making it all happen.

Cole Palmer kicked off their penalty shootout victory with a bang, and his teammates duly followed suit, securing a meeting with the Netherlands.
Though the team has gone far, Gareth Southgate has not been immune to criticism. Many people have demanded that his treatment of Palmer be changed.

Gary Lineker has demanded that a Chelsea icon be given the chance to lead the national team, since it seems likely that the manager will walk down following this tournament.

On “The Rest is Football,” he declared, “This will be Gareth Southgate’s last.”

Lineker demands that Frank Lampard take over as manager of England. “And if he doesn’t then I think he’ll bow out,” he says. He will make that choice. However, I wouldn’t write Frank Lampard off. I believe he grasps it strategically. The players will, in my opinion, respect him right away. Here, I’m getting ahead of myself.

“In some ways, I believe his management career has been somewhat unlucky for him. Tactically, I believe he gets it.
While Lampard’s first stint at Stamford Bridge was undoubtedly much more successful than his interim replacement of Graham Potter, there’s no denying he was given a difficult hand that first time around.

The club veteran said earlier this year that he and Reece James were in regular communication.
