Enzo Maresca is the latest in a long line of Italian managers who have assumed managerial duties at Chelsea in the past.
The former manager of Leicester City will be looking to follow in the footsteps of many of his countrymen who have achieved success before him.
Former Italian coaches in West London had a famous history having won Champions Leagues, Premier Leagues, and FA Cups.
Given that Mauricio Pochettino was fired from his position despite the team finishing in sixth place the previous season, it is quite obvious what the club’s future goals are.
It would take a remarkable achievement to achieve even a fraction of Carlo Ancelotti’s achievements, as the player had a brief but fruitful stay at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca claims Carlo Ancelotti has taught him a lot.
After having worked under the current Real Madrid manager in the past, Maresca has now stated in his first interview on the team website that he has been inspired by him.
“Absolutely,” he replied. Like you say, [played under three extremely important managers: Manuel Pellegrini, Marcelo Lippi, and Carlo Ancelotti. All of us attempt to take things and  then we create our own box with all these things inside.
