Mikal Bridges sends Brooklyn a farewell message
The team appeared to enjoy Mikal Bridges’ contributions after the Brooklyn Nets, headed by superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, destroyed their opponents. Bridges had the appearance of a player who could be an NBA team’s first choice.
Though it appeared like Bridges was untouchable in Brooklyn, Brooklyn decided this summer it was time to continue the rebuilding process and traded him to the New York Knicks, even though Bridges proved during his brief stay with the Nets that he could be a star player.
Following Bridges’ blockbuster trade to the Knicks, he reunites with college colleagues Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo to form one of the league’s most formidable rosters. Bridges already demonstrated his quality as a player at Villanova.
With an Instagram post, Bridges bid farewell to the Brooklyn supporters before joining the Knicks, where he won’t have to travel far like he did when he was traded from Phoenix.
It will be interesting to see how this trade affects both teams. Some think that with Bridges added, the Knicks are now a constant title challenger, while others think that the Nets could finish last in the league the following season.
It’s possible that Brooklyn made a lot of deals this summer in an attempt to start over and bottom out, starting with Trading Bridges.
