Prior to Arsenal's FA Cup match against Liverpool, Mikel Arteta dealt a serious blow to Gabriel Jesus's injury.

Surprisingly, Eddie Nketiah started in place of the Brazil international in last weekend’s matchup against Fulham, with the former starting player. After losing to West Ham at Emirates Stadium earlier in the week, the Gunners dropped their second straight match. Jesus entered the game for the final 23 minutes but was unable to have a major impact.

In keeping with his benching, Jesus might not even be included in the matchday roster. Jesus was not to be seen getting ready for the football match against Liverpool.London is aware that he won’t be playing in the match because of a knee injury, according to Mail Sport. According to their study, there is hope that the injury is temporary, especially considering Jesus’ past history of knee problems.

Should Jesus be sidelined due to injury, he will be the latest in a long line of elite athletes who are unavailable, leading the way with Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey, and Takehiro Tomiyasu. While Tomiyasu is abroad with Japan at the Asia Cup and will miss the next few weeks, Timber and Partey are also long-term absentees.
