Thus far, the January window at the Emirates Stadium has been quiet.
It seems that Mikel Arteta has hinted that Arsenal won’t make any acquisitions before the January transfer window closes.
The Gunners defeated Crystal Palace 5-0 on Saturday to maintain their lead in the Premier League title chase, but they still need to make some winter roster additions.
Their manager has stated that he is “happy” with the team he has at his disposal, so it doesn’t appear like there is any rush to do so.
After losing to Manchester City and Liverpool in the previous season, Arteta was asked if his team might win the championship this year. “We will try our best,” he replied. We must ensure that our players possess confidence and a sense of trust. It doesn’t help if people are doubting. Our guys are very special to us.”
With a brace from Gabriel Martinelli, Arsenal defeated Palace handily at the Emirates Stadium, marking their largest victory of the 2023–24 season.
The common belief is that the Gunners still don’t have a great striker who can truly pile up the goals, though.
The fact that no player at Arsenal has scored 20 goals in a Premier League season since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2019–20 makes this point clear.
The Gunners are in third place in the standings after 21 games. On January 30, they go to Nottingham Forest to resume play.
