Recent transfer rumours from Arsenal indicate that Mikel Arteta may have completed his first move of the January window before Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta completes his "covert" transfer to Arsenal in before of Liverpool's FA Cup match.

It’s possible that Mikel Arteta and Arsenal performed a covert deal during the January window. The Gunners, who spent £200 million in the summer to recruit Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber in preparation for the 2023–24 campaign, don’t appear poised to make any major acquisitions during the winter transfer window.

Several names have been connected to a move to Emirates Stadium, including Kylian Mbappe, Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney, Martin Zubimendi, and Amadou Onana. Nevertheless, even though Arsenal needs more defensive depth, it does not seem likely that they will make a permanent deal in order to comply with FFP regulations.

Due to injuries, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu have both missed significant chunks of this season, including Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey. Tomiyasu returned for the London derby before leaving for the Asia Cup with Japan, thus the Ukraine international was not present for the team’s loss to Fulham last weekend.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on any possible incomings despite his financial concerns. “A new Arsenal full-back? Yes, it is possible that Arsenal will sign a new full-back in January, Romano said through the streaming service Kick.
