Jack Wilshere’s team defeated Reading 3-0 in London Colney on Saturday afternoon to extend their winning streak to five games across all competitions.
They led 2-0 at the break thanks to goals from Dan Casey, making his debut, and Luis Brown, who scored an amazing header. Thanks to excellent effort from Chido Obi-Martin, we won our eighth game in a row in the last minutes when Osman Kamara tapped home from close range.

Wilshere praises team cohesion following victory
Jack Wilshere, the head coach of Arsenal’s under-18 team, praised his side’s cohesion after their thrilling 3-0 victory over Reading on Saturday afternoon.
As the club won five straight games across all competitions thanks to goals from Dan Casey, Luis Brown, and Osman Kamara, Wilshere emphasised the great sense of camaraderie that has grown among the players.
The group’s cohesion is what matters most to me. When the season first started, I didn’t feel it as much because it takes time to develop as new players join and the first years from the previous year advance to become second years. There are several positions and duties. I can sense it now in the players and staff, and we’re working hard each week to improve.
“I don’t think we played our best; I thought we played a lot better last week. There were times when we lacked control.” However, we had some pleasant moments during the match and managed to score three goals.
Right now, things are going well for us, and we want them to stay that way. The question is, can we maintain our consistency and move on from here? In order for the players to learn and improve, it all begins with the manner we train.
Wilshere underlined the value of strong competition for spots in the starting lineup after considering Dan Casey’s debut.
It’s how Arsenal does things. The most crucial thing for me to remember when I was playing was that I needed to be good because there was someone a year younger or beneath me who would push me.
